A popular Raleigh shopping center is set to unveil a slate of new dining options
The first in a series of restaurants at Lake Boone Shopping Center is slated to open this month.
The Triangle’s second Chicken Salad Chick announced it will hold a grand opening Nov. 14 at its new Raleigh location at 2414 Wycliff Rd.
This is the second Triangle location for the popular fast casual restaurant chain, following Chicken Salad Chick’s 2020 opening in Cary.
As part of the grand opening, the first 100 guests through the door on Nov. 14 will get free weekly chicken salad for one year. The rest of the week will include other giveaways, like free branded water bottles, cutting boards, tote bags and free food.
The Raleigh Chicken Salad Chick is the second in a six-location deal for franchisees John Schuster and Mike Saccone.
“So many of our Cary guests over the past three years travel from within Raleigh city limits and ask us when we’re going to open closer to them. It’s been our plan since our first days with Chicken Salad Chick to bring a total of six locations to the Triangle, so this is an exciting next step in our expansion goals,” said Schuster in a press release. “We couldn’t have done it without the continued support of Chick fans in Cary and our amazing team members who embody the brand’s hospitality and service from the heart every day.”
The new Chicken Salad Chick is one piece of a major overhaul of dining options at the Lake Boone Shopping Center.
Other changes include:
- The demolition and rebuilding of a decades-old McDonald’s location, expected to reopen in spring 2024 with a more drive-thru friendly design.
- A remodel of the Chick-Fil-A dining room, expected to reopen mid-November.
- The expansion of the popular Butcher’s Market gourmet store, slated to open in first week of December.
- The Triangle’s fourth Duck Donuts location, expected to open in 2024.
Is Ace Hardware coming to Lake Boone?
Earlier this year, the shopping center saw the closing of its Walgreens pharmacy location. It appears that space could soon be filled by a new tenant.
George York, president of York Properties, which has managed Lake Boone Shopping Center for 23 years, confirmed that Ace Hardware is among the companies considering a new location in the former Walgreens space, though a lease has not been finalized.
Ahead of a new tenant, the former Walgreens is not expected to be razed, York said, but that a full interior renovation will take place.
As for the new businesses confirmed and set to open soon, York says those fit in well with the existing tenants.
“There’s a good mix of restaurant options that we think complement each other and help maximize the business in the shopping center,” York said. “For instance the Butcher’s Market is a complement of Food Lion, hopefully providing a one stop shopping experience.”
