A Raleigh pizza institution just opened a new location in the heart of the city’s nightlife district.

Vic’s Pizzeria now has a new fast casual location at 1 Glenwood Ave. in Raleigh, on the same block as cocktail bar Dram & Draught and the taproom for Incendiary Brewing.

The new Vic’s is playing to the lunch and late night crowds, serving pizza by the slice, plus 12- and 18-inch pies. There will also be grab-and-go salads, calzones, stromboli and Vic’s popular limoncello cake.

The Glenwood Vic’s will serve pizzas until 2:30 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Vic’s has been a popular name in the Triangle pizza world for decades, with owner Mario Longo’s flagship spot Vic’s Ristorante in City Market, plus another location on Lake Boone Trail.

With the Glenwood location, Michael Longo is taking the lead from his father and looking to build on the family business.

“I just know this area is growing tremendously,” Michael Longo said. “With WeWork, Citrix, Pendo, there’s a lot more foot traffic. You’ve got lunches and bites in the evenings and then the late night business.”

Michael Longo said he’s calling Glenwood the Vic’s fast casual location and is playing up the proximity to cocktail bar Dram & Draught and the Incendiary taproom. At Incendiary, Longo said customers can use a QR code to order from Vic’s and have meals delivered to the taproom.

Before the Glenwood location, Michael Longo ran a pizza bus at Raleigh’s Bowstring Brewing. He said Vic’s fans will find familiar recipes on Glenwood, but said tastes can always vary oven to oven. Regardless, a Raleigh pizza legacy just landed in the city’s nightlife center.

“My dad was a pizza man in Brooklyn who moved to Raleigh in the late 70s,” Longo said. “Vic’s was one of the first pizzerias in the area. I want to kind of grow his legacy. We worked hard on this name.”
