A beloved name in Peruvian chicken has found a permanent home in a glitzy Raleigh development.

The Raleigh icon Mami Nora’s will join Raleigh Iron Works’ Salvage Yard later this year.

On Tuesday, Jan. 7, Raleigh Iron Works developer Grubb Ventures announced that Mami Nora’s would move to the project which has so far netted numerous high profile restaurants. Raleigh Iron Works sits less than a mile from Mami Nora’s longtime spot on Wake Forest Road.

That restaurant location was sold in 2023 to Cook Out for $2.95 million and then sold again last year to Hanna Properties for the same price.

With that sale, the future of Mami Nora’s became a major question.

Now that question appears answered, as the popular charcoal-roasted chicken spot moves to the Salvage Yard development.

“We are thrilled to add a Raleigh classic to Salvage Yard,” said Wendy Nabors, director of commercial leasing at Grubb Ventures. “As we continue to add tenants to our Salvage Yard lineup, 2025 is going to be an exciting year for the project and the RIW District, as a whole.”

Mami Nora’s is owned by mother and son Celina and Eddie Mentore.
