It’s Super Bowl weekend, the biggest, most nacho-tastic cultural and athletic event that happens all year long.

So where will you watch it?

That depends of course on whether you care about the game, the commercials or how many wings you can eat in three hours.

Here are the very best spots to watch the Super Bowl in the Triangle.

Best bar for Kansas City Chiefs fans

Buffalo Brothers — 1289 Kildaire Farm Rd., Cary. 919-561-5933 or buffbrothers.com

This suburban wing spot has been the official Chiefs bar for years. As you may recall, it worked out for the Chiefs last year.

Best bars for Philadelphia Eagles fans

Woody’s City Market 205 Wolf St., Raleigh. 919-833-3000 or woodysportstavern.com

One of downtown Raleigh’s very best sports bars also happens to be a fanatical Eagles spot. Go Birds, as they say.

North Street Beer Station — 521 W North St., Raleigh. 919-977-0825 or northstreetbeer.com

Over near Glenwood South is Raleigh’s other official Eagles bar, a certified party every Philly game. Last Sunday, North Street held a pep rally as basically a warm up to the Big Game.

Top picks for everyone else

Players’ Retreat — 105 Oberlin Road, Raleigh. 919-755-9589 or playersretreat.com

There isn’t an obvious connection between the PR and the Super Bowl, but historic sports bars have a way of showing their best in the biggest moments. This iconic Raleigh bar is a cathedral of sports fandom, no matter who’s playing.

NC state fans at Players’ Retreat, the famed Raleigh sports bar, celebrate a Wolfpack lead against Duke during the second half of the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament last year.

Tobacco Road Sports Cafe — 280 S. Mangum St., Durham. 919-804-0764 or tobaccoroadsportscafe.com

Just over the left field fence at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park is this home run of a sports bar (see what I did there?). Tobacco Road’s big draw is the bank of wall-sized projector screens.

Sports & Social 301 Fenton Gateway Drive, Cary. sportsandsocial.com/cary

By far the largest sports bar in the Triangle, this indoor entertainment complex is about as immersive of a Super Bowl experience you can find outside of the actual Superdome. Table reservations are sold out, but the watch party is still open and selling $10 tickets.

The Brickhouse Sports Bar & Grill 3801 Hillsborough St., Raleigh. 919-829-3666 or brickhouse-nc.com

The Brickhouse has a dozen giant projector TVs, so you’ll never miss a moment. Either the Chiefs or the Eagles will win the Lombardi Trophy, but The Brickhouse has an equally coveted title — Best Local Sports Bar by the readers of The News & Observer.
