A popular cafe specializing in toasts, fresh juices and coffee is opening its first location in the Triangle this month.

Toastique, founded in Washington, D.C. in 2018, will move into The Exchange, a buzzy and quickly-filling new development in Raleigh’s Midtown area.

The Raleigh franchise is owned by Jessalyn Abril and Kristi Kaltenbach. It’s Toastique’s second North Carolina cafe, joining an existing Charlotte location.

“Opening Toastique isn’t just about starting a business, it’s about sharing something we truly love with our community,” Kaltenbach said in a news release.

Toastique menu

The signature items at Toastique are the gourmet toasts. Both sweet and savory varieties are available, topped with ingredients such as fruit, cheese, meat, vegetables, oils and dressings.

Smoothie bowls made with different bases and covered with items such as nuts, fruit, granola and drizzles are also served, alongside drinkable smoothies.

Toastique is one of the tenants at the 1000 Social building at The Exchange, a mixed-use development in Raleigh.

Besides toast and smoothie bowls, grab-and-go snacks are also available.
