Here are a few recent restaurant openings to know about.

New nightlife playground on Glenwood

Replacing Carolina Ale House on Raleigh’s Glenwood Avenue is the new Smash Social Club.

The nearly 10,000-square-foot concept combines food and drinks with games including ping pong, beer pong, darts and shuffleboard. On its menu are traditional pub foods including nachos, pizza, tacos and wings. For drinks, expect draft beers, craft and domestic bottles, cocktails and THC-infused beverages.

North Carolina’s first Dutch Bros Coffee is now open in Morrisville.

Serving beverages including espresso-based lattes and mochas, plus cold brew, smoothies, matcha, teas and blended drinks, the drive-thru coffee shop is at 971 Morrisville Parkway in Park West Village. It opened Thursday, Dec. 11 to much excitement, causing a traffic jam in the surrounding area.

Two restaurants offering different cuisines are coming to Durham.

After years of operating as a pop-up, Hatch Burritos has a permanent home at 723 N. Mangum St. Specializing in New Mexican cuisine, the restaurant is currently open for breakfast and lunch. In the mornings, try breakfast burritos filled with ingredients including eggs, veggies, potatoes, cheese and meats. During the day, Hatch serves lunch burritos made with fillings such as steak, beans and cheese, along with green chile stew.

On Tuesday, Dec. 16, a new Timber Pizza Co. restaurant will open at 501 Washington St. in Durham. Recognized with a Michelin Bib Gourmand honor, the pizza joint serves red, white and green pies, including vegetarian options.

There’s one other Timber location in the Triangle, which opened last year in Raleigh.

The newest superfood-focused spot in the Triangle opens Friday, Dec. 12 at 7840-125 Alexander Promenade Place in the Brier Creek area. Everbowl offers both create-your-own and specialty smoothies, bowls made with bases including acai and pitaya, and toasts.

The franchise is owned by Kim and Rob Morris, who also own the Everbowl off Falls of Neuse in Raleigh.
