One of the country’s most popular steakhouse chains has expanded in the Triangle.

The casual steakhouse has moved into Eastfield, a mixed-use development off Interstate 95 between exits 97 and 98. LongHorn Steakhouse has existing Triangle locations in Garner, Apex and Raleigh.

The LongHorn Steakhouse opening will create between 75 and 100 new jobs in the Selma area, the restaurant told The News & Observer in an email.

LongHorn Steakhouse, expected to employ around 90 people, is the latest national restaurant brand to open at Eastfield, joining Panda Express and Olive Garden, another Darden concept.

“We’re happy to welcome LongHorn Steakhouse to Eastfield, the first in Johnston County, N.C., and we look forward to enjoying LongHorn’s famous fresh, never frozen, expertly grilled steaks,” Kevin Dougherty, president of Eastfield developer AdVenture Development, said in a news release.

Eastfield also hosts retailers including Old Navy, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Hobby Lobby, Ulta Beauty and Academy Sports and Outdoors.

The development will welcome Johnston County’s first Target.
