Whether you’re a fan of grilled cheese or Reubens, there are plenty of sandwiches to try in the Triangle. But which are the best?
On March 2, The News & Observer invited readers to tell us the sandwich shops they love the most. We reviewed your nominations and also asked our staff’s food experts to share the restaurants and delis that are staples of the Raleigh-area dining scene.
We started with a list of 43 nominees, and now we’re down to the top 20 sandwich shops. Below, you can cast your vote for your favorite local place to eat sandwiches.
There are more than 20 restaurants you can choose from, due to several ties. Feel free to refresh this page and vote as many times as you want. Here’s what to know about the future rounds of the contest:
The second round will determine the Top 10. It will be live from about 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 11 until 10 a.m. Friday, March 13.
The third round will determine the Top 5. It will be live from about 11 a.m. March 13 until 10 a.m. Monday, March 16.
The fourth round will determine the Top 2. It will be live from about 11 a.m. March 16 until 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 18.
The fifth round will determine the winner. It will be live from about 11 a.m. March 18 until 10 a.m. Friday, March 20.

operate fewer than 20 locations across the country
have no plans to close their doors soon
