Undated deli meat & boiled eggs: 3 Triangle restaurants earn ‘B’ grades

The News & Observer publishes a weekly roundup of restaurant sanitation scores to keep you up-to-date on the health grades at Triangle dining spots.

Sanitation scores and their corresponding letter grades are used in North Carolina to assess restaurants’ adherence to rules and standards intended to mitigate and prevent the spread of food-borne illnesses.

You’ve likely seen sanitation grade cards at restaurants you’ve visited, and The N&O previously explained what those scores mean and how they’re calculated.

Here are sanitation scores in Triangle counties from June 30-July 6.

Wake County sanitation scores

The Wake County inspection management system shows 91 restaurant inspections were completed June 30-July 6. Two restaurants received a B grade (a score of at least 80% but lower than 90%):

Marco’s Pizza (325 Carpenter Hill Drive, Cary) received a score of 85% on Monday, July 6.

• The restaurant was in violation of 12 standards.
• Violations include bulk containers of sanitizer and other chemicals stored above pizza boxes, food within a sandwich flip-top table were not held at the proper cold temperatures and containers of ham, beef and shredded pepperoni were maintained past seven days.
• The restaurant previously scored an A grade in May 2025.

Tadka Biryani Tandoor (9825 Chapel Hill Road, Suite F, Morrisville) received a score of 86.5% on Wednesday, July 1.

• The restaurant was in violation of 17 standards.
• Violations include no paper towels at the front hand sink, multiple food in the walk-in cooler was above the proper temperature, boiled eggs, cooked chicken and potatoes were in the walk-in without dates and an employee didn’t properly wash the handheld mixer, among other violations.
• The restaurant has not been previously scored.

Durham County sanitation scores

The Durham County inspection management system shows 39 restaurant inspections were completed June 30-July 6. One restaurant received a B grade (a score of at least 80% but lower than 90%):

Los Tres Mexican Restaurant(6905 Fayetteville Road) received a score of 87.5% on Tuesday, June 30.

• The restaurant was in violation of 15 standards.
• Violations include deli meat and hot dogs that did not have a date mark, cheese stored in front of raw fish and shrimp in grill drawers and salsa and sliced tomatoes not held at proper cold temperatures, among other violations.
• The restaurant previously scored an A grade in January 2026.

Orange County sanitation scores

The Orange County inspection management system shows eight restaurant inspections were completed June 30-July 6. All received an A grade.

Johnston County sanitation scores

The Johnston County inspection management system shows 12 restaurant inspections were completed June 30-July 6. All received an A grade.

Chatham County sanitation scores

The Chatham County inspection management system shows four restaurant inspections were completed June 30-July 6. All received an A grade.
