Meaty, Smoky Tailgating Chili

Sure, you might have a go-to chili recipe with some ground beef and whatever secret ingredients you swear by, but this recipe will easily go toe-to-toe with it. Dreamed up by a North Carolina pitmaster, this recipe uses 2 pounds of smoked brisket and some of your favorite barbecue sauce to make a rich, hearty stew.

You could smoke a whole brisket yourself the day before, or take the easy route and buy two pounds from your favorite BBQ joint in town.

This recipe is perfect for tailgating with a grill, because the corn, scallions and jalapeno all benefit from a quick char to give them a depth of flavor.

The dish is like a last hurrah to summertime flavors, but it still brings great tastes that your guests will love. Avocado and corn give it plenty of substance, and the homemade dressing is an impressive and delicious addition.

This is it. This is the dip I expect to see on the table at nearly every party I go to. It’s got tang and spice from buffalo sauce, plenty of melty cheese, and you can dip almost anything on a party platter into it and be happy.

It’s the perfect dip for celery, carrots, crostini, crackers, corn chips, tortilla chips and anything else you can throw at it.

While this recipe calls for blue cheese dressing and crumbles, it’s easy to substitute ranch for your pickier eaters.

It’s the perfect accompaniment to have on hand next to the buffalo chicken dip, and this is probably the easiest recipe on the list to make. It’s as simple as dumping everything into a slow cooker and walking away for two hours or so.

While this is great with any chip or cracker, I do recommend toasting slices of French bread special for this. The melty cheese and crispy bread are a wonderful combination.
