Selma Saturdays Arts & Crafts Market

Fairy Garden Workshop

This class will provide all the information you need to create a fairy garden that will do well in your specific environment. The cost is $25 and covers instruction and soil. Dig into Veggies

In this five-week course, explore all aspects of a vegetable garden from planning the garden to making their plate beautiful with vegetables. Natural Cosmetics Class

Step away from toxic chemicals in industrial cosmetics and learn how to make your own safe & nurturing body products. We will introduce you to safe ingredients and over 35 recipes to make your own facial care, hair care, body care and makeup products. Propagation Workshop

Join Tim Alderton and Chris Glenn in this hands-on workshop and learn how to asexually propagate plants. Participants go home with a greater knowledge of plant propagation and with many freshly propagated plants. Workshop is open to all knowledge levels. 5/27 9 a.m.-3 p.m. $100 for members, $120 for nonmembers. The cost includes all materials needed, however, lunch is not provided. Please bring a lunch. Nature Inspired Magnets with Air Plants

In this Living Art Series workshop you will learn how to create natural magnets with shells and air plants. This class will combine reuse, natural materials, and living art. Clay Date Night

Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with clay as the instructor introduces a variety of techniques. Each person will complete and paint a functional piece of pottery that will be glazed and fired by the instructor and available for pick up 2-3 weeks after the workshop. 6/2 7 p.m.-9 p.m. $25 per person. American Peony Society Exhibit

The American Peony Society’s annual convention is coming to Raleigh. You will find the latest intersectional “Itoh” hybrids to traditional, fragrant favorites. Arboretum Guided Tour

Guided tours are available to the public free of charge every Sunday at 2 pm from March—October. Cooking from the Garden

Instructor Katie Coleman, chef and owner of Durham Spirits Company, leads classes. Expand your repertoire of summer season salads, along with refreshing cold soups. Parent/Child Clay Workshop

Each workshop will allow your child, with your assistance, to create their very own ceramic artwork. Endless Yard Sale

The 301 Endless Yard Sale takes place every third week in June in along US Highway 301. It is organized jointly by the 5 counties along the 100+ mile route: Halifax, Nash, Wilson, Johnston and Harnett counties. This year’s sale will be June 16-17. Thousands of shoppers, and over 500 vendors, show up to the sale every year to sell or buy antiques, collectibles, DIY finds, up-cycled furniture, and other items. 6/16-6/17. 7 a.m.-5 p.m. US Hwy 301, 600 S. Herbaceous Perennials Propagation

Join Doug Ruhren in this propagation class and demonstration focused solely on propagating herbaceous perennials. Techniques discussed include division, stem and leaf cuttings, and seed and other techniques. Doug will demonstrate each of the techniques discussed and show class participants how they can propagate perennials at home using simple techniques. Some of the newly propagated plants are shared with the students. 6/17 9 a.m.-12 p.m. $20 for members, $25 for nonmembers.
