When my mother was married in 1921, her father made her a bread tray for her wedding present.

Mother used it every day to make biscuits for our family. I always wanted that bread tray, and Mother gave it to me before she died.

One of my favorite memories is Mother would make tea cakes in that bread tray at Christmas. On Christmas Eve, she would put a dish pan full of cookies near the Christmas tree. All the children got a glass of milk and as many cookies as we could eat.

I still use that bread tray to make biscuits and I make tea cakes for my children and grandson at Christmas.
