Favorite Things: One family’s gingerbread man cookie cutter

The Laymon family has enjoyed the handmade gingerbread men using this recipe and the cookie cutter that was purchased in the mid-’60s in San Diego. The Laymon sons, grandsons and a great-granddaughter have participated in the making of the gingerbread men. My estimate is that more than1,000 gingerbread men have been made over the years. The recipe has been passed to the next generation of Laymons so they can continue the family tradition.
