A few upcoming gardening classes
Here are details on a few interesting upcoming gardening classes and events:
▪ JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh is hosting a field trip to Lakeview Daylily Farm, with more than 1,000 varieties, 9-11:30 a.m June 8. Cost: $10 for members, $15 for nonmembers. Advance registration is required. Tour departs from the arboretum’s visitor center at 8:40 a.m.

▪ The Sarah P. Duke Gardens in Durham is hosting an early summer blossoms tour, 2:30-4 p.m. June 9. Cost: $5 for members, $7 for nonmembers.
The garden is at 420 Anderson St., Durham, 919-684-3698, gardens.duke.edu.
▪ N.C. Botanical Garden in Chapel Hill is hosting a native plant propagation class, 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. June 11. The class will cover “vegetative propagation and techniques for propagating Southeastern native plants by means of stem and root cuttings.” Cost: $38.

Free guided tours at Raleigh arboretum
Raleigh’s JC Raulston Arboretum offers guided tours at 2 p.m. Sundays through October.
The arboretum’s volunteer docents guide visitors on the one-hour tour and share information about the arboretum’s plants, people, history and mission.
No registration is required. Tour begins at the Bobby G. Wilder Visitor Center.
The arboretum is at 4415 Beryl Road, Raleigh. Parking is free.
