Gay "Bill" Young

Gay “Bill” Young, aka: Billy Boy Young” and “Fiddlin Man”, 86, of Knightdale passed away Sunday evening, May 3, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Bill will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Born July 21, 1928 in Sandy Cross, NC, he was the son of the late Colonial James Young and Laura Carpenter Young. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Wesley G. Young.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 62 wonderful years, Mildred C. Young; daughters, Diana Y. Locklear and husband Timothy, Wendy Y. McDonald and husband Mac; grandchildren, Heather Lyman and husband Jamie and Drake Faucette and wife Kitura; great-grandchildren, Sarah and Amber Lyman, Kayden, Kody, and Kendall Faucette; sister-in-law, Sylvia Fouchee and husband Garland; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 7, 2015 at New Life Church of God, with the Rev. Ron Brisson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. prior to the service.

In Leiu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Bill to New Life Church of God, 6900 Zebulon Rd, Wake Forest, NC 27587.
