State transportation crews will close Rural Hall road to remove railroad crossing

N.C. Department of Transportation maintenance crews and the Yadkin Valley Railroad will close a section of Jefferson Church Road in Rural Hall on Friday, April 24.

Starting at 8 a.m., Jefferson Church Road at the railroad crossing between Mooreland Drive and Trolley Lane will be closed, the N.C. Department of Transportation said in a news release.

Crews will remove and replace the railroad crossing and repave the asphalt at that location, the DOT said.

The road is expected to reopen by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, weather permitting, the DOT said.

Detour signs will direct drivers around the closed road, the DOT said.
