Winston-Salem woman faces fraud charges after being linked to taking $92,000 from a victim
A Winston-Salem woman is facing fraud charges after investigators linked her to $92,000 taken from a victim's bank accounts, authorities said.
Anne Marie Flynn, 43, of Glousman Road is charged with common law forgery, identity theft, obtaining property by false pretense and possessing a fraudulent identification card, according to an arrest warrant.
Flynn is accused of forging a withdrawal slip on March 26 from Truist Bank to receive money from a victim's bank account, the warrant said.
Flynn is accused of using a fraudulent identification card with a victim's information to obtain $46,000 from the victim's bank account, the warrant said.
Flynn is accused of presenting a fake identification and knowing a victim's personal information to withdraw another $46,000 from the victim's bank account, the warrant said.
Flynn also is accused of possessing a fraudulent N.C. ID card, the warrant said.
Flynn is being held in the Forsyth County Jail with her bond set at $20,000, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said.
On March 30, the Davie County Sheriff's Office received a fraud report from Truist Bank at 1386 Yadkinville Road in Mocksville, the sheriff's office said.
The victim said that someone had fraudulently withdrawn $46,000 from the Truist Bank in Mocksville and an additional $46,000 from the Truist Bank in Sanford on March 25 and March 26, the sheriff's office said.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for video surveillance footage and documents related to the transactions, the sheriff's office said.
Investigators then identified Flynn as a suspect, the sheriff's office said.
Flynn is accused of entering the bank locations, using a fraudulent identification card with the victim's personal information and posing as the victim to withdraw the money, the sheriff's office said.
On Wednesday, Winston-Salem police arrested Flynn, the Davie sheriff's office said. Officers found additional fraudulent ID cards.
Flynn was given a $15,000 bond on the Davie County charges, and she is scheduled to appear on June 18 in Davie District Court, the sheriff's office said.
Flynn was also charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance by Winston-Salem police, according to another arrest warrant.
Flynn is accused of possessing Alprazolam, marijuana and Hydrocodone on Wednesday, the warrant said.
Alprazolam treats anxiety and panic disorders. Hydrocodone treats chronic pain and is used as a cough suppressant.
Flynn was served with a fugitive warrant from the state of South Carolina, where she is charged with obtaining property under false pretenses in York County, S.C., according to a court record.
