Man cooks meal at a Greensboro Popeyes after breaking into the restaurant

A man in Greensboro didn't love that chicken at a Popeyes restaurant.

The incident happened about 5 a.m. Thursday at the Popeyes at 3228 W. Gate City Blvd., said Patrick DeSota, a spokesman for the Greensboro Police said.

Officers determined that someone got inside the building, cooked shrimp, biscuits and fries, and then stole other items before leaving the restaurant, DeSota said.

"Well, we've heard of the ‘Wet Bandits' and ‘Sticky Bandits,' but we've never come across a ‘Biscuit Bandit,'" DeSota said.

Police didn't provide details about how the suspect gained entry inside the restaurant.

A Greensboro Police Facebook page post had a message for the suspect.

"To the individual who decided to break into Popeyes on Gate City around 5 a.m. Thursday morning, and proceeded to cook shrimp and biscuits, then stole a few things. Popeyes and GPD would like you to rate your food experience by contacting us and/or Greensboro/Guilford Crime Stoppers," the post said.

Anyone with information about this incident can call Greensboro/Guilford County Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.
