Initial class selected for Citrix startup accelator program
Seven teams have been selected to participate in the Citrix Startup Accelerator Innovators Program that starts Monday in downtown Raleigh.
The three-month program is designed to help local entrepreneurs develop breakthrough technology products. The finalists include Mindset Systems Inc., Akili Software, Joosy, UserLite, EMPLOYUS and two internal Citrix new product teams.
The entrepreneurial teams receive $25,000 in seed funding, plus mentoring from business executives, venture capitalists and others.
The program is being housed in Citrix System's new divisional headquarters in the old Dillon Supply warehouse at the corner of West and Hargett streets near downtown Raleigh.
Earlier this year, Citrix conducted a pilot accelerator program at its Silicon Valley headquarters. Its success led to the expansion of the program to Raleigh.
In addition to Citrix, the program is also receiving support from Red Hat, HQ Raleigh, a local business accelator, and the city of Raleigh.
Florida-based Citrix is in the process of moving about 580 workers into its new Raleigh offices.
