The newly released list of Bed Bath & Beyond stores set to close by the end of the year includes the store on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh.

The New Jersey-based company, which also owns buybuy Baby, Harmon Face Values and World Market, announced in October 2019 that it would close about 60 of its stores across the country over the next two years. By July 2020, that number had increased to 200.

The list of the first 63 of those 200 stores to close, shared exclusively with USA Today, includes the 6270 Glenwood Ave. store in the Pleasant Valley shopping center, and a store in Concord at 8241 Concord Mills Blvd.

Prior to that October 2019 announcement, Bed Bath & Beyond closed 40 stores. None of those were in North Carolina.

USA Today reports that the move to close Bed Bath & Beyond stores is part of the company’s pivot toward being a “digital first” retailer.

Since reopening after being temporarily closed during the pandemic, Bed Bath & Beyond has invested more in online commerce, pushing “buy online and pick-up in store” and “curbside pickup” options, with those services available at nearly 60% of locations, the paper reports.

The Triangle has other Bed, Bath & Beyond stores.

In Raleigh, there are stores at 9521 Strickland Rd. (Six Forks Station) and 3604 Sumner Blvd.

In Cary, at 405 Crossroads Blvd. (Crossroads Plaza).

In Durham, at 3616 Witherspoon Blvd. (Patterson Place) and 1515 N Pointe Dr. (North Pointe).

And in Holly Springs at 208 Grand Hill Place (Holly Springs Town Center).
