Schneider Electric, a Fortune 500 company behind hundreds of electrical products, announced Wednesday the opening of a new facility in Morrisville that will house more than 400 employees.

Workers from Schneider Electric’s older offices in Morrisville and Knightdale will consolidate in the new 65,000-square-foot space. The building, located at 1101 Shiloh Glenn Drive, is dubbed “RaleighHub.”

“The RaleighHub reflects the new ways our employees work and is designed with that flexibility in mind, to encourage employees to be comfortable and thrive at work,” Aamir Paul, president of Schneider Electric’s North American operations, told The News & Observer via email. “The hybrid space supports different business areas with R&D labs, customer training rooms, conference areas and employee workstations.”

To commemorate its local expansion, Schneider Electric donated $300,000 in electrical products, software and materials to North Carolina A&T University, according to a spokesperson. The donation will modernize A&T’s industrial automation lab by the spring of 2023.

“Our employees here love their community and go above and beyond to support it,” Paul said. “In total, employees and the Company have donated over $2.5 million to state nonprofits. The announcement today to invest in North Carolina A&T State University continues that support, investing in the community for the future.

RaleighHub is Schneider Electric’s latest measure in an ongoing program to improve the company’s efficiency. NashvilleHub, launched in 2018, decreased Schneider Electric’s area energy usage by 67%.
