Virginia homebuilder plans $34M expansion in NC, bringing 261 jobs to 2 counties
Virginia homebuilder NVR will expand its presence in North Carolina, creating 261 jobs in a pair of counties.
The company plans to invest over $33.9 million in North Carolina by expanding its presence in Kings Mountain, Cleveland County, and building a new facility in Fayetteville, Cumberland County, according to a news release Tuesday from Gov. Roy Cooper’s office.
NVR’s expansion is supported by a job development investment grant approved by the North Carolina Economic Investment Committee Tuesday. The 12-year grant could see the company reimbursed up to $1.6 million if NVR reaches the state’s job creation and investment goals.
The expansion is expected to grow North Carolina’s economy by about $516 million during the 12-year period, according to the state.
The average annual salary for the new positions is $46,510.
NVR builds and sells houses through subsidiaries Ryan Homes, NVHomes and Heartland Homes. It operates across 15 states in the eastern U.S., including the Carolinas.
