Ear-piercing studio and jewelry store coming soon to Raleigh’s Village District
A national retailer offering ear piercings and hypoallergenic jewelry is opening its first Triangle location.
Rowan, a woman-founded and women-led company, is coming to Raleigh’s Village District, which was formerly known as Cameron Village. Company founder Louisa Serene Schneider grew up in North Carolina.
The store will open at 2043 Cameron St., next to apparel retailer Uniquities, later this summer, a Rowan representative told The News & Observer on June 10.
Rowan’s services and products
All ear piercings are performed by licensed nurses, according to the company’s website, and are done with a hand-pressurized device or a needle, not a gun. The nurses can handle piercings on people of all ages and ear placements, and they recommend after-care solutions to help customers heal.
Rowan sells hypoallergenic earrings, which are made with premium metals including 14-karat solid gold, gold vermeil, gold plating over sterling silver and sterling silver. None of the earrings contain brass, nickel or zinc.
Piercing appointments may be booked on Rowan’s website, but walk-ins are also accepted.
Locations in North Carolina
The Village District store will be Rowan’s first in the Triangle. The company has North Carolina locations in Charlotte and Winston-Salem, and another store is planned for Huntersville, near Charlotte.
