Food Lion has expanded its to-go shopping option to five more stores in North Carolina, including two in the Triangle.

With the additional locations now offering Food Lion To Go, the grocer provides pick-up or home delivery services to customers at all 1,108 stores in its 10-state operating area.

“We want to give neighbors the option to shop however they prefer, whether in store or online, while ensuring they have access to fresh groceries at affordable prices,” Evan Harding, the grocer’s director of Digital and eCommerce, said in a news release.

This is the latest announcement from the retailer regarding its Food Lion To Go program. In May, Food Lion expanded the service to four Triangle stores — in Garner, Raleigh and Morrisville — along with five others across the state, The News & Observer previously reported.

Food Lion began in Salisbury, North Carolina, in 1957. It has served the Triangle since 1975.
