Retailers are hiring seasonal workers in NC. Here’s how & when to apply
The holidays are a busy time for everyone, retailers included.
Several companies have already started hiring for seasonal positions, months in advance of some of the busiest times of the year, and positions are available for Triangle residents.
Here’s some information about applying for seasonal job opportunities in the Raleigh area.
How to apply for seasonal jobs at Kohl’s
The department store Kohl’s is looking to hire more than 200 seasonal associates in stores, distribution centers and e-commerce fulfillment centers in the Raleigh area.
Anyone interested in applying for a job at Kohl’s can stop by any of the retailer’s Triangle locations on Sept. 20 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and participate in an immediate on-site interview.
Applications may also be submitted online, at careers.kohls.com/seasonal, or by texting “Apply” to 24508.
Seasonal positions are eligible for a flexible schedule, weekly pay and a 15% discount for holiday shopping.
How to apply for seasonal jobs at Bath & Body Works
Known for personal care and home fragrance products, Bath & Body Works is adding 30,000 new seasonal associates at its more than 1,800 stores in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, the retailer announced.
A national store associate hiring event is scheduled for Sept. 28. Interested applicants can visit a local store for an interview, and offers will be given immediately to qualified candidates.
However, applications for seasonal positions are also accepted online until Oct. 26 (visit joinbbw.com). As of Sept. 19, Bath & Body Works was seeking seasonal employees at several Triangle stores, including at Raleigh’s Brier Creek Commons, Morrisville’s Park West Village and Cary’s Crossroads Plaza.
Seasonal associates are offered benefits including:
- A 40% discount at Bath & Body Works stores
- Daily Pay, which offers access to earned wages ahead of payday
- The possibility to transition seasonal jobs into long-term employment opportunities at the company
How to apply for seasonal jobs at Target
The retailer plans to hire around 100,000 seasonal employees across its nearly 2,000 stores and more than 50 supply chain facilities this year.
Most of the in-store seasonal positions include guest advocates, front-of-store attendants, fulfillment experts, general merchandising experts, food and beverage experts, and style consultants. Roles in warehouse operations are available at supply chain facilities.
Beginning Sept. 25, interested candidates can visit TargetSeasonalJobs.com to apply for in-store roles. Pre-recorded video and online interviews will be used for those positions.
Applications for supply chain roles are already being accepted online. Find open positions at Target.com/careers.

How to apply for seasonal jobs at Macy’s
Macy’s is looking for more than 31,500 full- and part-time seasonal employees at Macy’s, Bloomindale’s and Bluemercury stores and distribution centers across the U.S.
Interested applicants may apply online (macysjobs.com) or by visiting any Macy’s location on one of the company’s hiring events, offering immediate, on-site interviews, scheduled for:
- Sept. 26
- Oct. 24
- Nov. 21
- Dec. 4
As of Sept. 19, positions are available at Crabtree mall and Triangle Town Center in Raleigh and The Streets at Southpoint in Durham.
How to apply for seasonal jobs at Dick’s Sporting Goods
Retailer Dick’s Sporting Goods added several seasonal positions to its online job board on Sept. 19.
The company is looking for part-time sales associates at its stores in Raleigh, Apex, Holly Springs, Garner, Durham and Cary, among other North Carolina locations.

How to apply for jobs at ALDI
The German grocer ALDI is hiring thousands of store and warehouse employees across the country, the company announced.
While the positions are not necessarily seasonal, the opportunities come as the grocer prepares for the holidays and continues to open new U.S. stores.
As of Sept. 19, ALDI is looking for full-time associates in Cary and a part-time cashier/stocker in Durham. Find open positions at careers.aldi.us.
