These 2 stores have school supplies deals in the Triangle this week

It’s the height of summer break for many Triangle families, but it’s not a bad idea to start thinking about the upcoming school year.

Two popular retailers in the Triangle are offering limited-time discounts on school supplies this week.

North Carolina doesn’t have a tax-free weekend that coincides with the start of the academic year, so these deals may be a great option for families who are looking for ways to save money.

Here’s where to find discounts on school supplies in the Triangle.

Walmart school supply discounts

Arkansas-based Walmart is marking down prices of items across departments, including TVs, vacuum cleaners and watches.

But school supplies are also on sale. A few examples:

• 24-count Crayola crayons: 50 cents (was $1.44)
• 24-count Sharpie permanent markers: $14.97 (was $19.55)
• 14-count Paper Mate InkJoy pens: $14.97 (was $23.38)
• Eight-count black Expo markers: $6.47 (was $9.28)

Target school supplies discounts

During Target’s Circle Week, which runs through Saturday, July 12, shoppers can find discounted prices on back-to-school essentials for students of all ages, including college students.
