The 2025 Chevrolet Traverse is a three-row midsize SUV designed to provide space, utility, and technology. Powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque, it pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, with available all-wheel drive. Seating for up to eight passengers and best-in-class maximum cargo volume of about 98 cubic feet highlight its versatility. The four available trims include LT, Z71, RS, and High Country, with available Super Cruise hands-free driving technology. Chevrolet claims best-in-class maximum cargo capacity of 97.6 cubic feet, reinforcing the Traverse's emphasis on versatility and everyday practicality.

What's New for 2025

For 2025, Chevrolet removes the previous LS base trim and adds a new High Country model at the top of the range. A new Sun and Wheel package becomes available. The Trailering package is now standard on LT, enabling 5,000-pound towing capability. New 22-inch wheel designs join the options list.

The Z71 no longer offers cloth upholstery. The Driver Confidence package is no longer standard on LT and Z71. Furthermore, OnStar Remote Access no longer includes a complimentary three-year period.

Exterior

The Chevrolet Traverse's squared-off and upright design emphasizes width and presence. Its front fascia features a large grille with horizontal slats and LED headlamps integrated into a broad lighting signature.

Lower trims come with 18-inch wheels, while Z71 and RS grades ride on 20-inch wheels. In addition, Chevrolet offers new 22-inch wheel designs available for upper models. The Z71 boasts unique fascia, all-terrain tires, and underbody protection. At the same time, the RS comes with gloss-black wheels and dark exterior accents for a sport-oriented appearance. Two-tone paint is also available for selected trims.

Inside, the 2025 Traverse prioritizes digital integration and passenger space. A 17.7-inch touchscreen runs Chevrolet's Google-based infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. An 11.0-inch digital instrument cluster provides configurable driver information.

Second-row captain's chairs come standard, creating seven-passenger seating. A second-row bench is available on the LT trim, expanding capacity to eight. Third-row seating offers adult-usable space with competitive legroom and proper seat height.

Cargo capacity measures 22.9 cubic feet behind the third row, 56.6 cubic feet with the third row folded, and 97.6 cubic feet with all seats folded flat. High Country models add premium leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, wireless charging, and onboard Wi-Fi connectivity.

Verdict

The 2025 Chevrolet Traverse focuses on measurable strengths rather than luxury refinement. Its 328-horsepower turbocharged engine delivers adequate performance, though acceleration trails the previous V6, and engine noise becomes noticeable under load. Ride quality remains composed and family-oriented.

Where the Chevrolet Traverse stands out is in cabin space. A usable third row and a maximum cargo capacity of almost 98 cubic feet provide tangible advantages over several rivals. The 2025 Traverse price structure positions the LT as the most balanced choice, while Z71 targets light off-road use and RS adds visual distinction.

Compared with the Kia Telluride and Toyota Grand Highlander, the 2025 Traverse may not lead in cabin materials or hybrid efficiency, but it offers exceptional cargo versatility and competitive towing capability. For buyers prioritizing space and practicality in a Chevrolet Traverse midsize SUV, the package remains compelling.
