Durham startup RevBoss raises $1.1 million
Durham startup RevBoss has raised $1.1 million in seed funding that it plans to use to enhance its flagship product and expand its customer base.
RevBoss’s software product, also called RevBoss, helps businesses develop sales leads. It was launched earlier this year.
“Our application automates a lot of the low-level, time-consuming tasks that sales professionals have to do,” said founder and CEO Eric Boggs. “We’ve figured out some ways to do these tasks a lot faster so the reps are more productive and can use their time more wisely.”
Boggs, who founded RevBoss last year, previously was the founder and CEO at Durham startup Argyle Social.
RevBoss’s funding was led by Sovereign’s Capital, which has offices in Raleigh, Silicon Valley and Indonesia. Sovereign’s managing principals include Henry Kaestner, the co-founder and executive chairman – and former CEO – of Bandwidth.com.
Other investors include Robbie Allen, the founder and CEO of Durham’s Automated Insights; Bruce Boehm, former general partner at US Venture Partners; and Alston Gardner, a venture partner at Fulcrum Equity Partners.
RevBoss has eight full-time employees, with another starting soon, and plans to hire three more shortly.
“We’re recruiting software engineers,” Boggs said.
Today RevBoss has about 20 customers and is focused for now on landing small and mid-sized software and technology companies, Boggs said.
