This week’s Price Point is for mid-century modernist fans.

Chapel Hill is known to have a few modernist hot spots, and this gem fits the bill. Built in 1970, it sits on almost an acre close to downtown, just a few blocks from Eastwood Lake and around the corner from neighborhoods like Coker Hills and Lake Forest. It recently sold for $700,000.

Updated throughout, the front door is painted a bold orange and features five glass panels. Inside, the fireplace is part of a teak-wood accent wall with minimalist lines. According to the listing, the property last sold just six months earlier for $332,500. If it’s a flip, that’s a whopping $368,000 gross profit.

The listing agent, Jens Hoeg of Fathom Realty NC, was not available to comment.

On the other side of town in North Raleigh, a classic Southern Craftsman in North Raleigh sold for the same price.

Given the choice and budget, which one would you go for?
