New lab/office building planned for Centennial Campus

Capital Associates announced Monday that it will build a new 44,500-square-foot lab and office building on N.C. State University’s Centennial Campus.

The project, to be called CBC Flex Lab, will feature 75 percent lab space. It is expected to open in 2017 on the Centennial Biomedical Campus, a 250-acre extension of the larger Centennial Campus.

The biomedical campus is home to N.C. State’s College of Veterinary Medicine.

Capital is targeting the building at private companies seeking to partner and work beside N.C. State researchers.

Raleigh-based Capitol has been involved in several other development projects on Centennial Campus, including Venture Center and Greens at Centennial Campus, a 292-unit rental apartment complex that opened in 2014.
