Wake reports 3 more cases of coronavirus. The county total is now 25.

Wake County reported three more cases of coronavirus on Thursday.

This brings the number of cases in Wake County to 25.

One of the three new cases is a Wake County resident who attended The Millennium Tour 2020 concert at PNC Arena on March 13. The person was symptomatic during the concert.

The Wake County Public Health Division has a phone line for people who attended the show or worked at PNC Arena that night and have developed a fever of 100.4 or higher, cough or have shortness of breath. Those affected Wake County residents should call 919-857-9375.

At the time of Wake County’s announcement early Thursday evening, North Carolina had more than 125 known cases of coronavirus across 25 counties.

Durham and Mecklenburg counties had the most cases with 32 each on Thursday evening.

To slow the spread of illness, Gov. Roy Cooper has banned mass gatherings of 100 people or more, closed K-12 public schools and ordered bars and restaurants to close except for takeout and delivery.

So far, no counties have ordered residents to shelter-in-place, but Triangle leaders are meeting daily and making decisions day by day, The N&O previously reported.

There are 77 people in Wake County as of 5 p.m. March 19 who were exposed to the virus, have developed symptoms and are under investigation. Of the 77 people, 56 people are waiting on test results and 21 are still in the process of being tested, the county reported.

Another 253 people are being monitored because they may have been exposed to the virus through close contact, the county reported, and if they develop symptoms within two weeks they will be tested.

The state’s first case of coronavirus because of community spread was reported on Thursday.
