Weather permitting, drivers in Cary can expect delays on two roads starting this week, the town said.
On Monday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the town will close one northbound lane of Kildaire Farm Road between Pleasant Street and Byrum Street. On Tuesday, the town will close both northbound lanes, also from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
To get around the work, drivers should use Shirley Drive to South Harrison Avenue to Dry Avenue. The town will post detour signs.
Southbound lanes of Kildaire Farm Road will remain open during the northbound lane closures, which will allow the town to upgrade water taps to homes on Kildaire Farm Road.

Also on Monday, a contractor will begin locating and marking the water line that runs under Southeast Maynard Road at Walnut Street. From there, crews will make their way north to East Chatham Street, working between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays.
No more than one lane of Southeast Maynard Road will be closed at a time, but the town expects the work to take about eight weeks to finish.
