A Morrisville man who police say carried guns onto N.C. State University’s campus earlier this month was arrested Wednesday.
Christian Andrew Dorr, 20, is charged with having weapons on educational property and possessing marijuana paraphernalia.
After being arrested Wednesday, he was released on a $5,000 bond, records show.
N.C. State campus police earlier this month found two rifles, a shotgun and a BB gun in Dorr’s SUV that was parked on the university’s campus, court documents say.
The arrest came after campus police on March 7 heard from authorities at UNC WakeBrook Crisis and Assessment Services, according to a search warrant. Dorr’s mother said her son had bought three firearms in a three-week period, according to police.
An N.C. State officer found Dorr’s SUV parked in the on-campus Dan Allen parking deck, according to court documents.
“In plain sight inside the vehicle, I was able to locate multiple firearm boxes, one large ammunition storage box, one pair of hearing protection and one exposed rifle scope,” the officer wrote in a search warrant application.
There was also a spent shotgun shell under the SUV’s tire, the warrant said.
