Durham man followed female, dropped pants at Raleigh library, police say

A Durham man was arrested after police say he followed a female in a library and dropped his pants while the two were in a “secluded area.”

Petree Leray Anderson, 39, is charged with misdemeanor stalking and indecent exposure, according to court records. He was arrested Friday.

Raleigh police say Anderson followed a female around Leesville Community Library on April 3.

“Once in the secluded area the defendant dropped his pants to expose his thighs and belly,” according to Anderson’s arrest warrant.

Anderson put one hand inside his underwear — touching his genitals — and used his other hand to motion for the female to get closer, police say.

Police did not say how old the female was.

“It does not appear that the victim and suspect were known to one another,” police spokeswoman Laura Hourigan said in an email to The News & Observer.

Anderson is being held on $6,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court Monday afternoon, Wake County records show.
