Your Christmas tree could be the perfect present for a tiger in North Carolina
Your used Christmas tree could be the perfect toy for a cat. A really big cat.
Carolina Tiger Rescue, a big-cat rescue group in Pittsboro, North Carolina, is taking the trees to give to their tigers, leopards and other felines to play with.
Sharing a photo on Christmas Eve of a tiger named Riley, the rescue group Tweeted: “Riley Tiger is loving her Christmas tree enrichment! We spray the tree with perfume and hide meat inside, as a fun activity to stimulate her physically and mentally and encourage natural behaviors.”
The rescue in central North Carolina is home to tigers, lions, cougars and other animals.
“Many of our animals have been rescued from dire situations where they were kept as pets, props in roadside zoos, or as residents of failing sanctuaries,” according to the organization.
