Fair food is here to save us. NC State Fair hosts drive-through tastings on weekends.
Since time has lost its meaning, why not get a taste of the N.C. State Fair in the middle of spring?
The N.C. State Fair will host two weekends of drive-through fair food tastings, letting people get their fried food fix a few months early.
The fair food events will be held this coming holiday weekend, May 22-25, and again next weekend, May 29-31, from 12 to 8 p.m. daily. The sales are cash only.
The menu plays the fair food hits, including fried Oreos and Snickers, funnel cakes and candy apples and the favorite of last year’s fair, frozen Dole Whip.
Customers can enter the fairgrounds off of Trinity Road and stay in their car while being served their fried and frozen treats.
This year’s fair is scheduled to take place Oct. 15-25. Many of North Carolina’s largest events have been cancelled or postponed this year due to the coronavirus, including music festivals and concerts.
