One of Crabtree Valley Mall’s newest brick-and-mortar tenants also happens to be the biggest name in online shopping.

A new Amazon 4-Star store is under construction at the Raleigh mall, on the upper level beside Athleta, toward the Macy’s end of the mall.

Amazon 4-Star is a physical store that sells top-rated, best-selling, and new and trending “customer favorites” from Amazon’s online inventory. Everything in the store is rated 4 stars or above by customers.

The inventory will include electronic devices, kitchen products, home products, consumer electronics, toys, books and games.

The Amazon website lists 12 4-Star stores across the nation (most of them temporarily closed because of the coronanvirus pandemic) and 18 more that are “coming soon.” The Crabtree store, among those listed as “coming soon,” is the only Amazon 4-Star store listed in North Carolina.

Other Amazon physical stores include Amazon Books, a book store; Amazon Go, which sells food; and Amazon Pop-Up, temporary pop-up stores. The company lists none of those stores in North Carolina.

The Amazon 4-Star store is in a space that was previously occupied by A Christmas To Remember.

We have reached out to Crabtree management to get an estimate on when Amazon 4-Star might open. We will update this story when we learn more.
