New airline means new destinations. See where you can fly to from RDU.

Raleigh Durham International airport announced on Tuesday that it will add a new airline — and a new airline means new destinations.

Avelo Airlines will begin flying from RDU to New Haven, Connecticut, starting in May.

RDU’s daily flights

There are over 600 arrivals and departures at RDU daily, its website says.

At RDU, passenger traffic increased by 112% in January 2022 (compared to January 2021), according to a February press release. Over 637,000 passengers flew out of RDU at the beginning of this year.

In November (during Thanksgiving week, one of the busiest travel weeks of the year), over 236,000 travelers flew through RDU, a December press release said. This was a 139% increase over Thanksgiving week 2020.
