Power outage to 400+ Chapel Hill homes could last until Thursday evening
A power outage has left 452 homes in Chapel Hill without power Thursday afternoon, with temperatures nearing 100 degrees..
Power is expected to be restored by 8 p.m., a Duke Energy spokesman told The News & Observer.
The outage is west of the intersection of Weaver Dairy and Erwin roads, affecting several residential streets near Eastwood Lake.
The cause listed on Duke Energy’s North Carolina outage map appears to be damage to power lines from fallen trees or tree limbs.
At 3:58 p.m., ABC11, The News & Observer’s media partner, listed the temperature in Chapel Hill at 95 degrees, with a “feels like” temperature of 106 degrees.
