Triangle liquor store hours change for Christmas holiday. Here’s what to know.
If you’re hoping to make a festive beverage this holiday season — maybe spiked eggnog or a hot toddy — you’ll need to plan ahead and get your liquor before Christmas Day.
North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) stores are closed on Christmas Day and other major holidays. Plus, Christmas falls on a Sunday this year, and ABC stores are also closed on Sundays.
Local ABC stores will be open on Christmas Eve, though they’ll have reduced hours or close early, and hours vary from county to county. The stores will also change their operations on the day after Christmas.
To help you plan your shopping trips, we’ve compiled the Christmas operating hours for ABC stores in Wake, Durham and Orange counties.
Wake County ABC liquor store Christmas hours
▪ Wake County ABC stores will be open from 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24.
▪ The stores will be closed on Christmas, as well as the day after Christmas, Monday, Dec. 26.
▪ The stores will reopen Tuesday, Dec. 27, and operate under normal hours from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

Durham County ABC liquor store Christmas hours
▪ Durham County ABC stores will be open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

▪ The stores will reopen Tuesday, Dec. 27, and operate under normal hours from 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
