Roads reopen in downtown Cary after broken gas line disruption

Cary police, fire are responding to a broken gas line in Cary on Kildaire Farm Road.

A broken gas line in Cary will keep roads near the Cary Arts Center in downtown closed until midnight Thursday.

Cary Police alerted drivers Thursday afternoon to take alternative routes as the police department, Cary Fire Department, and Dominion Energy worked to repair the line. Construction crews had notified emergency personnel at 2:45 p.m. about the broken gas line.

By 5 p.m., the gas line was secured, but Cary Arts Center remained without gas service.

Kildaire Farm Road between Walnut Street and Dowell Drive will be closed until midnight, according to Cary police.
