Trash pickups change during Thanksgiving week. Here are schedules in Triangle towns
Local governments in the Triangle will either be closed or reduce their operations to observe the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, Nov. 23.
That means your normally scheduled trash and recycling pickup could be changed — most likely, delayed — this week.
Here are the schedules in cities and counties around the Triangle, and when you can expect to have your trash and recycling picked up.
Raleigh Thanksgiving garbage schedule
Collection will be delayed by one day beginning Thursday. Typical Thursday and Friday pickups will instead be Friday and Saturday, respectively.
You can use the city’s online, interactive tool at raleighnc.gov to check your collection schedule.
The Yard Waste Center is closed Thursday and reopens Friday.

Cary Thanksgiving garbage schedule
Trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day only for Thursday customers. Their collection will take place Friday instead.
The Citizen’s Convenience Center will be closed Thursday and reopen Friday.

Apex Thanksgiving garbage schedule
Trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day for Thursday and Friday routes. Friday customers will be collected on Saturday.
Yard waste crews will service as many homes as possible Monday through Wednesday, the town says.

City of Durham Thanksgiving garbage schedule
All curbside collections for garbage, recycling, and yard waste will be delayed by one business day with Friday yard waste customers receiving their curbside collections on Monday, Nov. 27.
The Waste Disposal and Recycling Center, Yard Waste Facility and the Household Hazardous Waste Center will close on Thursday and Saturday. Facilities will operate under normal schedules on Friday.

Carrboro Thanksgiving garbage schedule
Solid waste services will complete operations two days early.
Wednesday pickups will be moved to Monday, Nov. 20.
Thursday pickups will be moved to Tuesday, Nov. 21.
Friday pickups will be moved to Wednesday, Nov. 22.

Chapel Hill Thanksgiving garbage schedule
Residential trash pickup will operate as normal the week of Thanksgiving.
There will be no yard trimmings collection on Thursday or Friday.
Commercial trash collection scheduled for Thursday and Friday will be completed earlier in the week.

Thursday routes will be delayed by one day, while Friday route customers should put containers out as normal.

Yard waste will be picked up Monday through Wednesday for all routes. Residents are advised to leave normal yard waste out by 7 a.m. Monday for pickup by Wednesday.
