Decorating is one of the most fun parts of the holiday season. Pulling the bins out of the attic or garage, sorting through the Santas, angels and reindeer collected over the years and placing them in just the right spots in our homes.

The most special items are often those held in the family for years — maybe something you bought when your family was just getting started, or something passed down from parents or grandparents.

We want to see your favorite Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa decorations, the items you cherish most.

You can fill out the form below and upload a photo or short video, or use this link if you’re reading online and can’t see the form. If you’re reading in print, you can email me at bcain@newsobserver.com.

We’ll post the entries here on Dec. 18.
