Spring has arrived in North Carolina, and forecasters are predicting a warmer-than-average season.

Whether that makes you shout for joy or shudder in anguish, there are ways to get out of the Triangle bubble sooner rather than later.

There are plenty of flights from Raleigh-Durham International Airport in April. And some of them may be cheaper than you think.

Here are some destinations that are just a direct flight and $100 (or less) away.

Nonstop flights out of RDU under $100

We used Google Flights on Tuesday, March 25, to check for nonstop, one-way flights leaving from RDU Airport during April.

Prices may change, and airlines may charge additional fees (for example, for carry-on bags or specific seats) that are not reflected in the below ticket prices. Be sure to check costs before booking any flights.

Here are the direct, one-way flights that cost less than $100:

  • Chatham County Schools: March 31 to April 4
  • Durham Public Schools (traditional calendar): March 31 to April 4
  • Orange County Public Schools: Monday, March 17 to Friday, March 21
  • Johnston County Public Schools: Monday, April 14 to Friday, April 18
  • Wake County Public School System (traditional calendar): March 31 to April 4

Which airlines fly out of RDU Airport?

About 15.5 million people traveled through RDU last year, serviced by 19 airlines.

Two of the airlines that offer flights in the above list are relatively new to the Raleigh airport.

  • Breeze Airways, which was founded in 2021, made its first flights out of RDU in 2023, with direct trips to Hartford, New Orleans and Providence, Rhode Island.
  • Avelo Airlines also started in 2021, though it began flying from RDU in 2022, and takes passengers to several domestic and international destinations, including Montego Bay, Jamaica, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and Nassau, in the Bahamas.
