A man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a reported break-in at WakeMed hospital in Raleigh on Sunday.

Burnis Lee Morgan, 30, is accused of opening five safes in an attempt to steal $450 from WakeMed at 3000 New Bern Ave., according to an arrest warrant. He’s charged with five counts of safecracking, breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering, according to the warrant.

He is being held on $65,000 bail, court documents show.

Morgan was released from parole in February after a felony larceny conviction in 2023, according to records from the N.C. Department of Adult Correction.

Morgan’s first court appearance is set for Wednesday.
