Police have charged a 25-year-old Raleigh man with having sex with a minor, reportedly on the campus of Rolesville Charter Academy.

Rolesville police arrested Armani Rajon Fields on Nov. 27 for an incident reported to have happened on the charter school campus three weeks earlier, said town spokeswoman Kandice Scarberry.

Rolesville Charter spokeswoman Leah Wheatlake confirmed the accused is a former employee.

“These disturbing allegations have left our entire school community in shock,” she said. “School leaders immediately contacted law enforcement after learning about these allegations against a staff member and continue to work closely with authorities. While the ongoing police investigation limits the details I can share, what I can say is that families have been notified and this person is no longer employed at our school. Our priority remains providing a safe learning environment for our students.”

Wake County court records show Fields charged with felony statutory sex with a child under 15, for which he was released on a $250,000 Bond.

Fields is also facing three counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor in Johnston County, charges issued on Nov. 16 that involve him possessing images of a 14-year-old girl engaged in a sex act three days earlier, according to arrest warrants.
