A 54‑year‑old Raleigh woman died Friday when two cars collided head-on on Duraleigh Road, the Raleigh Police Department said.

At 5:45 p.m., police responded to a crash with injuries on Duraleigh Road near Deep Hollow Drive.

On Saturday, the police identified the woman killed as Kimberly A. Nimmer.

According to Nimmer’s LinkedIn account, she worked as a planning and development manager at the Orange Water and Sewer Authority since May 2024. Before that, she served as a senior policy analyst in the Raleigh city manager’s office.

The preliminary investigation shows one of the vehicles crossed into oncoming lanes of traffic and struck the other head-on.

Nimmer was killed in the collision; the other driver was seriously injured.

Impairment is not suspected in this incident, according to police. No charges have been filed at this time.

This crash remains under investigation.
