See photos of winter storm in NC, monks on their chilly journey
By Scott Sharpe
Much of North Carolina is being impacted by a major winter storm bringing snow and ice, along with expected power outages to the area.
While most flights and rail travel were delayed or canceled, a procession of Buddhist monks continued their 2,300-mile pilgrimage from Texas to Washington, D.C., as part of the Walk for Peace, an effort to promote peace, compassion and national unity, despite the cold and icy conditions.
Here are photos from our continual coverage of the storm. Check back often for updates.
