  • BermudAir to resume RDU service with twice-weekly flights to Belize and Turks and Caicos.
  • Seasonal BermudAir flights will operate Thursdays and Sundays from Dec. 20 to May 2.
  • BermudAir is the only nonstop carrier from RDU to Belize and Turks and Caicos.

BermudAir, the Bermuda-based airline that flew between its home island and Raleigh-Durham International Airport last year before ending the service because of poor sales, is coming back to RDU.

But this time it isn’t flying to Bermuda, at least not right away.

The airline announced Wednesday that it will fly twice a week between the Triangle and two Caribbean destinations — Belize and Turks and Caicos. The seasonal flights will take place on Thursdays and Sundays, from Dec. 20 through May 2.

The carrier will use Embraer E190 aircraft, a regional jet with 96 seats, including 8 in business class. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 5.

BermudAir expects to resume flying between RDU and Bermuda in the summer of 2027, said Adam Scott, founder and CEO. Scott said the airline’s growing fleet and improved service, as reflected in customer satisfaction surveys, will help make its second try in the Triangle successful.

“We’re a bigger and, dare I say, even better airline than when we first launched from RDU,” Scott wrote in an email. “I have no doubt that Belize and Turks and Caicos will be really popular from Raleigh-Durham.”

BermudAir is the only airline to fly nonstop between RDU and Belize and Turks and Caicos. Other carriers take travelers to four other Caribbean destinations: Cancun, Panama City, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

BermudAir made its debut at RDU in April 2025, flying twice a week to and from L.F. Wade International Airport, Bermuda’s airport. Despite a promising start, the airline announced in the fall that it would end the service Jan. 2.

The new flights are part of a larger expansion BermudAir announced Wednesday, including flights from six East Coast cities to Turks and Caicos and from five to Belize. The carrier also flies to Anguilla and Guatemala City.

The addition of two Caribbean flights means RDU travelers can now fly nonstop to 14 international destinations, including three in Canada, two in Mexico and five in Europe.

Demand for international travel remains high at RDU, according to Michael Landguth, the airport’s president and CEO.

“The new BermudAir routes will expand opportunities for travelers to experience some of the Caribbean’s most desirable destinations,” Landguth said in a written statement. “With added nonstop options, travelers can spend less time making connections and more time enjoying their trip.”
