3 arrested after man fatally shot in East Durham on Sunday
One man is dead after a Sunday morning shooting in East Durham near Sherwood Park, police say. Three suspects had been arrested as of late Sunday night.
Officers responded to the shooting the intersection of Fidelity Drive and Fiske Street at 8:40 a.m.
They found a man, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he died a short time later, police said.
Khalil Knight, 22, was arrested and charged with murder and armed robbery. Kenneth Gibbs, 21, and Monet Wise, 23, were arrested and charged with murder. All three are from Durham, according to police spokesman Wil Glenn in a news release.

There were six criminal homicides in Durham as of May 13, the latest figures available on the Police Department website.
There were 16 criminal homicides recorded last year at this time and 13 the year before that.
All told, there were 42 and 37 criminal homicides in 2016 and 2015, respectively, according to the website.
